Last Friday, March 3rd, Disturbed band members David Draiman, Dan Donegan, Mike Wengren and John Moyer were here in the McFarlane Toys offices for a meeting with Todd to discuss their upcoming music video collaboration.
As we have announced, Todd McFarlane Entertainment (TME) will be creating an animated video for as-yet-unannounced single from the band's smash album, Ten Thousand Fists.
Part of the process of making animation is creating character designs. Since beginning production at the end of February, utilizing the masterful drawing skills of Greg Capullo and Todd himself, 37 different concept designs have been created. With the band in town for a couple of concert performances, we invited them to our Tempe offices. Their visit provided a perfect opportunity to show them the work that had been done so far on the video.
This meeting was the first opportunity for Todd and video producer Terry Fitzgerald to meet the band members in person. The meeting went exceptionally well -- they were happy with the artwork done to date, and left even more enthusiastic about their partnership with TME.
Todd and Disturbed also teamed up for an exclusive meet-and-greet with fans before the second of two sold-out shows at the Marquee Theater here in Tempe. Together, they signed album flats featuring artwork designed by Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane for the cover of Ten Thousand Fists. Fans won passes to the meet-and-greet through Phoenix hard-rock radio station, 98 KUPD, and also through Spawn.com.
While Todd signed for fans, he answered questions about the Ten Thousand Fists artwork, which has been a major feature of the band's tour and image.
New Disturbed Contest
