Originally scheduled for release late 2005, the popular NHL Legends series continues with Series 3 -- bringing you some of the biggest stars in the National Hockey League. Take a look at these new figures, destined to become as sought-after by hockey fans as their predecessors.
WAYNE GRETZKY 6 -- New York Rangers
Our first-ever Gretzky figure in a Rangers uniform showcases The Great One's final stop in his illustrious playing career.
DON CHERRY -- Broadcaster
As co-host on CBC's Hockey Night In Canada, Cherry has expounded his beliefs about the game of hockey (and everything else) for nearly 25 years.
TONY ESPOSITO -- Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago never missed the playoffs with Esposito in goal, although his career highlight may well have happened outside the NHL when he and Ken Dryden helped lead Team Canada to victory over the Soviet Union in the 1972 Summit Series.
BOBBY ORR -- Boston Bruins
Widely considered to be the greatest defenseman of all time, Orr revolutionized the game -- teaching goalies that defensemen can score while showing fans that hockey players can fly.
MARCEL DIONNE -- Los Angeles Kings
The lethal center tallied 1,771 points in his Hall-of-Fame career and helped the NHL gain a foothold on America's West Coast -- turning in 12 brilliant seasons for the Los Angeles Kings.
PETE MAHOVLICH -- Montreal Canadiens
Pete began his career in the Red Wings organization, but he truly found his stride after being dealt to the Canadiens in 1969. Pete won five Stanley Cups in Montreal and also played for Team Canada in the unforgettable 1972 Summit Series.
Legends 3 is scheduled to reach store shelves in the first two months of 2006.

Other News From the Rink
Way back before the NHL work stoppage, we announced plans to create two new 12-inch hockey figures. Those plans were paused (or "on ice" if you like the symmetry) while the NHL sorted out its labor issues, but with the puck back on the pond and the biscuit in the basket we fired up the presses and got back to work as well. The second versions of our Martin Brodeur and Steve Yzerman figures featured both stars hoisting the Stanley Cup following their most-recent championships, and we felt both figures would make sensational 12-inch figures as well. Look for them on shelves in late November and until then, enjoy the photography:
