Last week, spawn.com posted a contest to win two copies of a new sports book On the Ball: What You Can Learn About Business From America's Sports Leaders, written by ESPN.com sports business writer Darren Rovell and Sports Business Group founder David M. Carter. The book includes comments by Todd and anecdotes about McFarlane Toys. Todd agreed to autograph the copies.

The winners of the signed copies of the book?

  • Matthew C. Sabella from Suffern, NY
  • Fernando Guillen Solano from Mexico City
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who entered.

Darren approached Todd to be in the book due to Todd's recognition as a sports memorabilia expert, his ownership in the Edmonton Oilers and the success of the McFarlane's Sports Picks brand. Ironically, Darren interviewed Todd this week (http://espn.go.com/mlb/s/2003/0312/1522613.html) for a story about the Barry Bonds record home run baseball going up for sale soon.

If you missed out on the prized autographed copies, visit http://www.ontheball.biz/ for more information about the book, including where to buy. It's a good read!
