McFARLANE TOYS' GIANT ROBOT INVASION
It's Almost Time to Make Way for Spawn 18

The time is drawing nigh, big honkin' robot fans, time for the most ambitious action figure series ever produced by McFarlane Toys -- Spawn Series 18: Interlink 6.

Though it's suffered through more than its fair share of production delays, Spawn: IL6 will finally be blasting into stores in March. Here's the rundown on the line:

Spawn: Interlink 6 consists of six stand-alone futuristic robot-style figures that are insanely detailed and articulated. Though each one looks cool on its own, the real trick is that all six assemble into one massive Spawn robot that is more than 16 inches tall (almost 2 feet tall with extended antennae).

The figures are finished in a black and copper wash and each comes with a section of the base that also assembles to support the full Spawn: IL6 robot.

HD1 becomes the head. The figure is 8 inches tall, not including the giant antennae towering behind it, which extend another 7 inches themselves! It features articulation at the neck (two points), both shoulders, both elbows, the chest, the waist, right wrist, hips, knees, ankles and toes. It also has rubber hoses running to various rockets and weapons on the body, and "shock absorbers."
TS2 is the torso of the combined toy. As a robot, it's the most massive of the bunch. It fires a missile from the left arm, and has joints in the neck, shoulders, right biceps and elbow, and hips. The legs pivot back and provide the propulsion for the entire group of robots.
RL3 stands for Right Leg 3, the next figure in the assortment. It fires a rocket from the right forearm. It has articulation in the neck, ball-joint shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees. Check out the titanium-skeletal ribs.
LL4 is the next figure. This droid has a missile that shoots from the right arm. You can pose it at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees. Its backpack becomes ankle-armor for the interwoven figure. It hooks into TS2 to provide the left leg of the robotic array. Both "leg" robots are 6 1/2 inches tall.
RA5 is, appropriately enough, the right arm. This automaton comes wielding a working chainsaw as its main weapon and stands 6 3/4 inches tall. It comes with a mask to hide the gruesome "face." There are joints at its neck, shoulders, elbows, chest, right wrist, hips, knees and ankles. There are also four "toes" that extend from the feet that are individually posable, to make a giant pinching claw when interlocked with the others.
LA6 is the final figure, changing into the left arm of Interlink 6. This one pulls out all the stops. It has more than two dozen pivot points, including the head, shoulders, biceps, wrists, chest, hips, thighs, knees and ankles. Additionally, there are five "fingers" on each shoulder pad that are articulated. These spider-claw shoulders become the intricate fingers of the grouped toy. Like the others, it comes with a section of base, packaged on a gun-metal, circuit-board style card.

Stay tuned to Spawn.com for more info on Series 18 as it becomes available, including an online section of complete assembly instruction tips and a win-em-before-you-can-buy-em contest in late February.
