Todd McFarlane Productions is the company behind the monthly comic book Spawn. Created by Todd McFarlane, Spawn debuted in May 1992, selling 1.7 million copies, making it the bestselling independent comic book of its time. Spawn is published in nine languages and distributed in more than 32 countries.
In 2003, TMP teamed up with our French publisher to produce Spawn: Simony -- a French comic which finds Spawn in the Parisian catacombs and combines science and sorcery. The comic has since been translated into several languages including English. In the works for 2007 is another French collaboration with our publisher, Delcourt.
Currently, TMP releases the long-running Spawn monthly comic now in its 15th year. Spawn passed its epic 150th issue in 2005 and is still going strong with the plotting by McFarlane, writing by David Hine and art by Philip Tan.
Spawn: Godslayer, a one-shot, is the newest book to join the long line of comics TMP produces. It debuts in 2006 and is written by Brian Holguin and art by Jay Anacleto.
The Art of Greg Capullo, also being released in 2006, showcases this artist's extraordinary talent. From beautiful covers to interior pencils, this collection features many never-before-seen pieces as well as a behind-the-scenes tutorial.
The Spawn 30 online comic is currently being released a few pages at a time leading up to the launch of the Spawn 30 series of action figures.
Also coming out in 2006 will be the long-awaited return of Spawn/Batman, written by Todd himself.
Past TMP titles include Cy-Gor, Spawn: The Dark Ages, Spawn: The Undead, The Crow, KISS Psycho Circus, Hellspawn, Sam & Twitch, Case Files: Sam & Twitch, and Greg Capullo's Creech.
